Drain volumes - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
For anyone keeping score: whenever my '02 was drained (using the drain plug) while on a lift, precisely 4 quarts were needed to bring the level up to, but not beyond full. When the front of the car was up on my "J.C. Whitney" era ramps, a bit over 5 quarts.
In the days when I was towing a convertible between Ohio and Florida, I did a drain and fill every single year. When not towing, I used a 25,000 or 30,000 mile interval, which keeps the average age of the fluid under 50,000 or 60,000 miles, respectively.
