good luck with the flush... I doubt that will do the trick, to be honest, but worth a shot...
The GM upper/top engine cleaner is designed to free up frozen piston rings. And it works from the top down, rather than from the bottom up.. like an oil flush. It's more effort, but may be worth a shot, if the flush doesn't work..
Don't dismiss the PCV valve..
The aero turbo's are supposedly rock solid.. which is why i'm leaning towards the rings.. But you can easily remove the cobra pipe to the turbo.. and try wiggling the impeller to see if there is any play...
does it smoke after sitting overnight.. or pretty much anytime you start the engine?
