I have had nothing but good luck with Dunlop tires on many of my cars. I have SP A2s on my '99 right now and like them. They are good in snow and slush, not so good in pure water.

The stock Michelins performed how I've heard. They get hard early and lose performance. I have a friend with the Bridgestone RE950s on it (V8SHO) and he says they are a handful in the snow.

Other tires I have experience with (not on this car though)
Yokohoma AVS-dB (Pretty good tire, hard to balance, poor in frozen snow.)
Firestone SZ-50 (Great summer tire!)
Goodyear RS-A (Long life. If you want performance they are junk after 1 year).
Dunlop D40M2 (Good medium priced tire, now gone)
Dunlop D60A2 (Probably the best tire I ever had, cost and tire wear considered). The SPA2 is pretty close to this tire. Excellent all-around tire in my area.

I'm in Missouri with dry roads most of the time, a few snowfalls and some ice.
