Thought I'd put my two cents worth in on them, now that I've got about 10k miles on mine...
I think these tires may just be a bit too much for the stock suspension, at least the softer stock suspension on the earlier models (have them on our 99 2.3LPT wagon).... I think the sidewall stiffness is noticeable greater than the Michelins, and the the impact on the ride has been much more severe than I would ever have guessed...it's become quite wobbly...
Also, after 10k miles the tread noise has increased a lot -- the car sounds like an SUV with big assed "mudders" on it on the highway (the concrete highways here in southern california are really noisy with these tires).
Having said all that, the grip is amazing, the turn-in and steering response is MUCH better than those crappy michelins... I think the wet is a lot better too, but we've not had enough rain to really be sure...
So when these wear out (I think I'll get another 5k miles out of them), I'll be looking for something else...... If I had an aero, I'd probably stick with the S-03's, but with this car, and its soft suspension, I"m going to be looking for something else...
Just wish that the new Yoko AVS ES100s were in the right size, they look like a great compromise
