I guess I should have mentioned that my car is Laser Red, which is a solid (non-metallic) color. It sounds like repainting the panels is the way to go, even though they could probably do a pretty good color blend. It also sounds like I don't need to throw a giant fit if they insist on just touching up the affected area? It's certainly not a show car, but I have been very careful to keep it scratch and ding free. I guess my question is, is there anything that they might offer do to "fix" the problem where I should just put my foot down and say "No"? Obviously, the body shop knows how to do the job right, but if the dealership has to eat the cost of this repair, they might want to take the cheapest route. I just want to be educated enough to know if they are cutting corners.
Maybe I should check my C pillars before I take it in. I could kill two birds with one stone if they are already cracking ;-)
Thanks!
-Chris
