I do, and suggest that this be done for EBC GreenStuff pads. One needs to burn off some of the organics from the pad under controlled conditions to prevent uneven transfer to the rotor with some other braking event.
And I have seen where new pads do not grip well and the petal feel can be normalized very quickly. And there is conflicting advice about babying new brakes at first, which is not folk lore that may never go away. But the details in the info that you linked does exceed the attention span of most folks.
