I was always amazed reading about DI failures, malfunctions and replacements on the 9000 board, as my red one just kept on sparking until the car was 8.5 years old, and had 280,000 miles. Never really failed outright either, merely missing on acceleration. Always refreshed ngk plugs between 12-15 k miles, checked gap regularly. Liberal coating of dielectric grease on plug tip and DI plug connector. My 1995 Aero now has 334k miles. 5th set of tires, 4 set of brakes, 3rd set of rotors, 3rd (and final I hope)exhaust, and 2nd clutch (first clutch lasted 207 k miles). Only big problem was head gasket deteriorated at 320k miles. I had my indie do that, and replaced the timing chain at the same time. Chain and guides looked brand new. I am going for 500k. Mobil 1 oil , wix filters, and Mobil gas is all the engine uses. Just got my wife a 2000 95, which is why I am on this board now as well. Hers has 90k miles. Looking forward to sharing experiences and learning from folks here. Regards- Tom S.
