overpressure vs oversupply Posted by Kevin K [Email] (#374) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Kevin K) on Mon, 27 Nov 2000 12:26:33 In Reply to: 900 pressure regulator, kevin dickinson, Sun, 26 Nov 2000 08:35:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Verify overpressure, vs oversupply. Pressure test per the manual. May be just oversupply due to bad injector or bad fuel dist'r. I had the latter, where swapping inj'rs left prob at same cyl, as indicated by 'spray test'.
I repaired a dimple in the internal metal diaphram ( not recomended surgery ).
The pressure and spray tests are needed here. Get new injector do-nut seals, and grease bef installation aft spray test. Old often break upon removal. And if inj tubes are dark near inj'rs, should replace them too .... very easy to crack in this condition.
Failure of the residual or hold pressure test will imply symptoms described by Mike in Denmark. Lack if pressure allows boiling and vapor pockets in injectors, for poor hot start aft 1/2 hr, esp in winter.
