failure, I have the following to report. Last week I wrote a letter to Saab USA's General Counsel, warning them of the problem and potential liability. I received a call today from the GC of Saab, thanking me and informing me that their regulatory people are looking into it, ie, they are checking with the NHTSA et al for information regarding complaints and failures. They will determine if there is a need for a recall.
I'm not sure there is a design defect, and if there is, they have some good defenses. I doubt anything will come of it unless there are truly a horendous number of failures and/or loss of life. From what I know of the problem it only happens at low speeds while turning, not a particularly dangerous situation.
