That's another one that's scrolled off the "More from ___" list, Mike. I posted it in September. I'll spare everyone the original long post and just summarize for you here:
After a series of SPG9 performance mods, I experienced the "windshield in the face" syndrome caused by boost pressure fuel cutoff. So I needed to get to the boost pressure fuel cutoff solenoid under the dash (roughly in front of the driver's left knee). I reclined the driver's seat as far as I could, inserted myself upside down in the seat, and slid down under the steering wheel until my shoulders were on the floormat and my torso wedged between the bottom of the steering wheel and front edge of the seat.
Wasn't until I was there that I realized Gravity was not my friend. I fiddled with the solenoid but was having trouble and decided to get out. I was stuck! I tried to reach the seat tilt mechanism to give myself more room under the wheel, and couldn't. Tried to wiggle UP and out, couldn't. One arm was wedged in over my head. Stretched the other arm up and tried to honk "SOS" on the horn, and found out the horn didn't work with the engine off (it did on other cars I've owned!). Finally, I was able to reach around to the car phone, drag it out by its recharger cord (which mercifully didn't fall out), turn it on one-handed, squeeze the speed dial button for HOME, and after a few rings, my wife answered from somewhere in the house.
She came out laughing, asking what I wanted. I was in pain, bellowing, "GET ME OUTTA HERE!" She wanted me to wait while she got her camera. Grrrrrr. I love her so much.
She finally extracted me, then asked me, "Why didn't you just take the seat out?"
DOH! So I did that, put a pillow on the seat mount area, and the job went much easier after that. It always seems I learn stuff the hard way!
