what a used 1985 900 turbo, 4dr goes for these days. In the southwest I think I'll be lucky to get $1000. Real easy to get a free->$350 turbos, but damn if your trying to sell a decent car.
You need to ask around on re-wiring. I think GM and others have done it. I always wondered about the pins and crimp tools. As an engineer I know what this stuff costs too. Maybe they just splice in with solder? Who knows.
As far as your harness is concerned: If you've got some bad wires why wait for the other to go. I guess it boils down to how long you think you want to keep the car? And how much effort your willing to put into it today? It was worth it for me to find a decent used harness and simply plug it back into the car. It wasn't worth it to re-wire the car, which is probably the right thing to do. Maybe if you talk sweet to Cliff he'll find you another one!
Good luck, man I know what your dealing with.
