About 5000 miles after I installed my new clutch into my 85 900S, the transmission failed in spectacular fashion and, upon inspection, it appears the transmission somehow spewed metal shavings and fluid all over everything within the clutch cover.

A friend with an 85 900 Turbo needs a new clutch and I've offered up mine.

First, is it important that I clean everything before installing into her car?

I assume it is and if so, any suggestions on the best degreasers or anything to stay away from, for fear of damaging the surfaces?

Since I'm asking questions already, is the Saab Factory clutch kit for 1985 900's the same for both 8-valve NA's and 16 valve Turbos?
