...if I was going to kill off this car, a suitable way would be along a dirt road, clawing along on gravel. ;)
Seriously though, to my very untrained eye, there was no obvious transmission damage and I was able to drive power through it after the incident (just not driving the wheels since the CV joint was busted). Had I known, I'd certainly have avoided rebuilding the front end!
Anyway, "considerable warpage" scares me a little bit. My intent was to sell the clutch components (which are ~5000 miles old and really weren't abused) to a friend who's in need of them. I really don't want to sell her bum equipment (and then be expected to do the labor again in the future). Do you really believe that the clutch disc, pressure plate and/or slave cylinder would have been damaged by "warpage"?
