I did a replacement last month Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Thu, 19 Dec 2002 19:01:13 In Reply to: Screeching Heater Motor, Shawn, Wed, 18 Dec 2002 20:59:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It took several hours, but was mostly straightforward. I don't know the total time, as I was interrupted often by my kid. Tips:
1. Be sure to make a diagram of the color and placement of every wire connector that you remove, and there are LOTS of them.
2. The only tricky wire is the ground for the glove box (probably why Micah's got broken). It is located on the right (outboard) side of the box and is relatively short. It is held on by a connector with a "click" connector - squeeze the connector on the flat sides and eventually it will just pop off. If you can't figure out how, perhaps you can just cut it and splice in a longer wire when you put it back together!!!
3. I did not remove the lower knee bolster, which made only one screw for the center vent a bit difficult.
Good luck and keep warm!
