The AMM (air mass meter) might have been the cause of the code. If you get wide swings at idle at first cold start up I would suspect this. The AMM is the black cylindrical device in the air intake system jsut downstream from the air cleaner. First unplug and give the connectors a shot of WD40. If the AMM is bad, you can save a ton by buying a rebuilt from sobstory and putting it in yourself. It is only held in place by two hose clamps that can be removed with a screwdriver or a 7mm nut driver.
The exhaust does not have to be moved to get the passenger side motor mount out, and I'll bet that your driver's side mount did not really need replacement.
I would check a couple of other things:
Make sure that they securely replaced the ground wire from the alternator frame to the block. This wire could easily have been missed or broken when they reinstalled the alternator during the driver side mount procedure. You might be running off your battery with no alternator charge.
Re the overheating, I suspect a fan problem. do the fans come on when the temp goes up and when you turn on the A/C. I would make sure that the fans are both plugged in and that the fan temp switch on the upper driver side of the radiator is properly plugged in. Same for the connectors to the high temp A/C cutout switch on the upper radiator hose.
