I am having difficulty locating the O2 sensor wires, etc...but the mechanic did just check them, so I am really wondering about the AMM at this point, having read all of these very informative posts.
When you say...
"You'll want to eliminate the AMM as a suspect because, like JohnK said, it can cause the mixture faults and the 12225 fault. Unplug it, start it, and see what happens. If it runs the same as without unplugging it, then it's a good suspect."
Ummm...I really, REALLY hate to ask this, but does anyone have a picture of the AMM which I could look at, or a link to such a picture? I can't seem to figure out where it is. I know that if I can locate it properly, I can unplug it and start the car and check it as has been suggested above. At least then I could rule it out as a suspect in the case. Sorta like a photo line-up. Or DNA.
The coolant does not seem to be leaking, but I will check that again to be certain. It's quite full in the reservoir, though.
Also, remember that the headgasket was replaced (or so I was told!) a couple of months after we purchased the car.
Thank you all again and again.
Julia
