A different type of coolant leak... Posted by Jonathan Scupin [Email] (#428) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jonathan Scupin) on Thu, 7 Jul 2005 19:57:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ok, little background: In my saabing experience ('86T and now an '88T) I've grown used to carrying a container of coolant next to the spare tire. I have conditioned myself to think that losing coolant is normal.
Now, having replaced a leaky headgasket and miscellaneous coolant tubing all over the place, I'm no longer losing coolant! Yay!
But twice now, I've come to my car to find a puddle under the tail-end. Yup, the bottle of coolant leaks out of the bottle, and somehow out of the plastic bag it was wrapped in, and drips through the drain passages, much to my embarassment.
I feel I've come a long way in my DIY experience, but can I stop lugging around a bottle of coolant? What do other folks carry in the hatch, in terms of tools, fluids, and spare parts?
Sincerely,
Jonathan
PS: thank goodness we're not on the NG board, having to carry extra Direct Ignition Cassettes in the hatch!
