Steering Rack Issues...

Hey guys, my steering rack was leaking a little oil for awhile now, but there wasn't any real degradation of performance. After starting her up for work today and trying to turn out the driveway, the steering wheel gets REALLLLLLLL heavy about every quarter turn. I suspect this is the U-joint, but it seems like it has toasted the steering rack as well. What do you think the problem is and how much is it going to hurt my bank account? Thanks!
