Wanting to learn more about the internals of five speeds myself as I have four or more to tear into and want to make some good ones...
Doesn't everything in the clutch/flywheel/bearings stack north of the transmission turn at the same rate? all of the speed differences are happening after going thru the chain drive to the actual transmission itself?
I reread your post and didn't understand something I bet... "When the primary shaft is turning at a different rate than the flywheel" confuses me...
