cool. I think you supported what I thought I said... lol
North of the chains is the engine, flywheel, pilot bearing, the release bearing and pressure plate, all moving as one when your foot is pushing on the clutch pedal The clutch disk and input shaft, if the transmission is in neutral, may be stationary, or may have some minor movement. and when the pressure plate is relaxed, ie your foot is off the pedal, the release bearing transissions to not turning at all (In a perfect world...) the clutch disk, and input shaft gets added to that same RPM stack as the moving pressure plate that is bolted to the flywheel squeezes the clutch between the the PP and flywheel, and the sprockets (both upper and lower) and chains between them at the, call it "entry" to the Southern Part of the transmission are now turning too, right?
Leaving out whether in neutral or a gear at the transmission end of things... there are two states, clutch in or out. With the clutch in, pedal depressed, the clutch disk, input shaft, sprockets and chains in the transmission should be mostly stationary and the rest is moving at engine RPM speed, With the clutch out, everyone is moving at engine RPM speed except the release bearing who should be backed off enough to allow the pressure plate to fully engage AND to just sit on the clutch slave. Did I get it correct?
Yep, that stuff inside the transmission is all FM and best left to Damien, but I have four bad five speeds stacking up in the garage, and pile just gets larger!
