to mount against the car.
i would look at it in your case as the trans has been beat to crap before you even step in and taken owner-ship.
the time your car was running as i recall it delivered more than expected with it boosting into mid red.
i had thought a saab nut previously owned your car from the leather shifter boot, and being nuts like us we know every problem the car has well before something happens,.... (most of the time)
what im getting at is your car has in general has been taken care of, modded in some way unknown.. kinda freakishly to deliver the kind of performance it gave you, your experience with the new plug removal (them all being white) i would suggest getting the blue tip injectors.
and then buy a transmission, park the car In the garage pick up a motor hoist and rip the motor out of the car.
with the motor being out replace all the motor mounts, clean up the motor bay a little, perhaps paint the fire wall some whacked out neon orange color, drop the trans off the motor or heck, let me just back up a bit.

shop for a motor that has 60,000 or under...... even 80,000 is fine.
wait a minuit... what your mileage,.. if its under 150,000 id keep the same motor.
drop the new gem in the car,. get it running and rebuild the old motor and trans. waiting the day when the motor blows up.
im up on 310,000 and after last nights run it should read 31,000 or even just 10 dont start thinking its not worth fixing the car because its not.
its worth the ever lasting enjoyment only the Saab 900 can give, turbo at that.
tell you what, you want the car done now,.. you dont want to take the time to do it yourself.. heck i would take a good portion of a half a year. so tell you what,
from my stalker ability i find your on the west cost.
you know who is also on the west coast.
(SWEDECAR) if i lived on the west coast i would defiantly ask how much he would charge for a little tranee swap, if you brought the donor, or perhaps if he has one.
(with my stalker ability i found SWEDECAR to be one if not the best in his profession with high quality work & prices)
look him up. his name is Anders
