My son, "Stranded Grad Student" is currently in El Paso, IL, having limped his car that far south from Madison WI. If you read the earlier post from mid-Saturday (yesterday), you can see the details.

As he's now 650 miles from his home in NW Georgia, I can't do much for him other than LD coaching. After thinking on his car's issues (overheating, wicked high boost, no power) the only common denominator I believe to all is the APC box. The car runs like it is commanding max boost and retarded timing at the same time...I know from experience that seriously retarded timing will cause overheating and poor power. The car currently won't exceed about 2500rpm, and with APC sol. hooked up still is boosting excessively, while running dangerously hot (4/5 scale).

If someone of the SAAB brotherhood could arrange a "test" of an APC loaner box to see if it resolves the issue, I'd be grateful and we could get the lost sheep home.
