On convertibles, you need to take the spare tire out to remove the trunk floor... just a side note. But, I agree - you don't need to be messing around there.
If the fuel and system relays test good, next step is to verify they're being told to work. Connect a multimeter up to pins 86 and 85 on the socket (relay removed) and crank the car. You should get 12v there. Connect multimeter to Pin 30 and a ground (relay removed) and you should have 12v with the key off.
It's odd that the car runs with power to the fuse. That implies that the ECU is working and that the relays work. The same relay that drives the fuel pump drives the injectors, and both are powered by the ECU. It's hard to get the injectors to work without the pump for that reason.
Maybe you do just have a bad relay? Only one of the 87 pins damaged? Do you have a spare you can throw in there to check with?
I'd try jumpering the fuel relay (pin 30 to pin 87a AND 87b) and drive around, see if the car behaves properly.
