whats up nicknick!!, wheres the adventure in not trying Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Tue, 3 Mar 2009 05:54:54 In Reply to: I think you'll regret this one.... and looking at it what could possibly happen,
hmmm haven't thought about it, but i guess
sanding disk could get stuck in there
sanding disk could get shredded
flywheel gets shaved so much it ends up with a hole drilled through it
clutch dish will start smoking from it being the one getting sanded.
well... thats all i can see happen.. not good that is., but
good thing i thought before hand and i have a remedy for all these problems.
for the sanding disk getting stuck in there, remedy is (o'well i now have more clutch pad
for the disk getting shredded, there is a drain hole right under the flywheel so the shreds can exit there. maybe ill help them with a bottle of water.
now this next one is stretching it, flywheel getting shaved to much, don't see it happening but if it dose ill run to the pick and pull and grab another.
now for the clutch disk getting smoked, tell you what if white smoke starts pouring out my motor while im riding the clutch ill take a picture of the smile on my face and post it.
really nothing can happen between the finger bowl and the flywheel.
if it ruins both my flywheel and clutch plate,... well uhmm it had to all come apart anyhow to fix the my current problem, its no problem to just swap parts while its disassembled.
of course im some 1000 miles away from the beast and i probably wont get around to trying this until a few months down the road but it is on my agenda,
i was sitting here thinking and tim pointed out a very good point about making sure its the flywheel spinning.
i pondered on this a few days and come to the conclusion of using rubber cement on one side of the sanding disk and sticking it to the clutch plate.
no allot of rubber cement just a small film over one side.
to remove the dick i was thinking along the lines of a 12 steak knife to separate the sanding disk from clutch plate.
and it being rubber cement,. any entrails left on the plate would just rub off next time the plate hit the flywheel.
dang i hate them typos :)haha_
its quite inventive, only thing i seeing happening is it working or not working. the collateral damage from trying this is next to none
