Frustrated with clutch hydraulics Posted by Bob_SAAB_101 [Email] (#460) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bob_SAAB_101) on Sat, 8 Aug 2009 10:28:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1994 vert, manual conversion
Well, I'm in the final stages of my conversion and I had both the Master Cylinder and the slave leak. I thought buying new would be the way to be safe, but both were defective in some way
First, the master started leaking badly, when I looked down I saw that the metal clip that holds the plastic on was defective, it actually had a break on the bend. I took it off, with great difficulty goven the small amount of room, and clamped it down using washers, and, yah, no leaks there.
I bled the system, and had plenty of power so I figured, time to take off the spacer ring tool. I had my wife push down on the clutch and I looked at the slave, and it worked great. Checked for leaks, none. So.. as soon as the tool was out it started leaking at the slave. Of course now I can't get the spacer ring back in as I have no pressure.
Is this common, new masters and slaves not working? I bought from the sponsor.
What next?
