I remember doing that one on the 89 when I did the clutch etc and resurfaced fly wheel. I just used the old seal against the new one and tapped it gently in alternating side to side at he 4 90 degree points. Used a small square edge hammer to start the new seal then to prevent damage to the new seal useed the old one to strike against. Never any problems.
