as safe. here's a real life after collision report. 6 year old 1983 900T sedan tops hill at 50 mph goes into right hand ditch to avoid head on collision with a pick up truck illegally passing a gang mower.. Driver pulls car back up out of right ditch by yanking hard to left. Crosses road goes up left hand embankment rotates up side down comes down on top of mower truck was passing (lucky tractor driver had roof and roll bar installed on tractor at own expense)Saab rolls off tractor, comes to rest on all 4 wheels. Saab totalled, driver survives with many bruises, no broken bones , no internal injuries, no cuts, just abrasions. A bad ride with a OK ending. But the airbags (it did not have did not deploy) Newer air bagged cars are safer if airbag doesn't harm you.
