Why don't you bleed it at the clutch line before it goes into the slave.
Disconnect it from the slave and try it there.
That will tell you if it's the slave or the master.
I've had about a 50% failure rate of clutch slaves within the first 18 months. One failed right after it was bled.
The o-rings on several were twisted. Your local parts place will have the o-rings for under $2.00 total. I've been switching them out on new ones regardless of where it came from. No failures since.
Masters stand to be a bit tougher.
