While working on my friends 93/900s, I saw some leakage at the heater vlve inside the engine compartment. The valve is at the heater hose connection. I heard that this valve can be eliminated by place some barbed connectors at each hose. One straight and one 90 degree will do. I think the reason for this valve is to keep hot coolant from flowing while at idle. Allows more heat to stay longer in the heater core while idling. I'm giving this a try! To replace this valve is fairly expensive, and for what! Anyone have this problem before?
