A heat gun and nylon prybar would work well. The one thing you want to avoid when removing is bending the strips too much as you pull them off. The chrome strip that's molded into them is actually mylar. If you bend the strips, the mylar wrinkles inside the molding. It doesn't ruin the strip; it just doesn't look good afterward. For someone taking the time to do a re-spray, I imagine it matter to you. :-)
When re-attaching, use heavy-duty 3M auto trim double-sided foam tape. It's gray or black, with a reddish backing. Not cheap. Avoid the inexpensive white stuff.
Be really careful during re-application to get all pieces parallel to one another; even a small difference is noticeable, in my experience.
