Considering heresy: selling SPG, buying V70R. Nuts??

I have a dearly beloved 87 SPG, moderately modified (see below). She runs beautifully, is fast and nimble, and has been just about perfect since I bought her in 89. But my kids keep growing and the back seat room doesn't.
I am considering a Volvo V70R wagon, 2005, with low miles but no remaining warranty. My perception is I will gain comfort, interior room, high speed highway cruise, but will lose something on twisty back roads.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BE AWARE OF, OR BEWARE OF, CONCERNING THIS CAR??
Jim Watts
The Stealthbomber: 87 SPG
Agressively tweaked APC, AID, 3.0 FPR, 24 lb injectors, TE05, upgraded hooter, Dawes device (inline mount to hide first 8 lbs boost from APC, Magnaflow cat and Borla exhaust. Motor and tranny rebuilt around 200k, upgraded tranny pinion bearing.
