nice.
I did it w/ a different brake master/booster(86-89 is fine..i used 89), front brake lines under the hood(only 1 side I think), the junction block on the firewall(they are different), and a different vac connection for the intake manifold. You will also need a brake bleeder valve from a front brake.
....Some SAAB snobs may scoff at my techniques, and to be honest, I say do what you are comfortable with(whiners).
That being said, the pedal assembly does not need to be changed if you fabricate an extension for the brake master fork. I made one from 2 wafer shaped pieces of SAAB battery shield I cut out. I bent the 2 pieces w/ a vice to make second fork that fit inside the existing fork w/ a nut, bolt and some washers. Crank that down, maybe use a grade 8 bolt from your left over parts bin.. (I had some doubts about this, but it's been on the car for 2 years now, and there has been a few times i SMOKED the brakes to avoid a deer here in WI, so it's def. solid, relax. Otherwise change the pedal assembly.
You will need to drill some holes in the fire wall/pedal assembly to the booster go in..no biggie, just get your drill out. You just have to drill thru the pedal assembly, but it's a lot easier than changing it out.
the weirdest part is the rear brakes...the ABS cars only have 1 line goin to the rears. On all the non ABS cars I have seen, there are 2 lines. Pick a side and plug the other w/ a bleeder valve from a SAAB front brake. I did the one w/ a shorter front brake line.
That's it! I did this in a day install, and I've been reaping the benefits of a late model NON-ABS SAAB ever since.
If anyone would like some pics, I can send some to your email. I think you really will be satisfied w/ a swap.
Cheers!
