It probably would be a good idea the use your very very clean '90 SPG head from the original engine as real clean is usually a sign that the valve guides and all are also in good condition. The only problem you'll have is that the '90 head won't have the hose nipple on the back that goes directly to the turbo so you'd have to use your original pre-'91 banjo tube and hoses that is fed from the intake manifold. Other than that both heads are identical!
