Chris,
If your donor engine came from a 1993 classic 900 non-turbo then it's a 2.1 liter engine and all classic 900 engines (2.0 and 2.1 liter) will fit on all classic 900 transmissions just fine. Now if you really did get a 2.3 liter engine from a 9000 or somewhere then you better listen to Landjet. Putting a 93 NA power unit into a 90 car is "basically" a straight swap but if you have a bad head gasket and clutch it will be infinitely less work and money just to fix those two issues. The 2.0 liter engines are very reliable while the 2.1 liter engines were prone to head gasket problems. After a while you may wish you hadn't done that swap. Fix the head gasket and clutch and sell the other power unit and you'll come out $$ ahead with less effort. I'm thinking (without checking the lit.) that the '93 NA unit ran on LH 2.4.2 while the '90 NA ran on LH 2.4 and that could complicate your swap too.
