On my '87 (and my '85) the oil feed line has a banjo fitting with two copper washers where it attaches on the side of the block (below the intake manifold, near the oil filter). I has the diamond shaped flange (with a paper gasket) at the other end, where it attaches to the top of the turbocharger.
I don't have any personal experience with that line cracking, but I recently heard a story about someone adding a fitting to that line (for a turbo oiler), and the oil line couldn't tolerate the extra weight. Makes sense that it would crack near the end, where the stress would be greatest. At the front of the motor that oil line should be clamped to the metal heater tube (that runs from the elbow at the front of the motor, under the intake manifold, then pops up between the #3 and #4 intake runners). I suspect it must need that support to keep from vibrating and developing fatigue cracks.
