Definitely check battery voltage immediately after shutting down, but before trying to restart. If it's under 12v then, you've got a problem. If it's at 12v then, probably you're okay.
If you think spark is weak, you might have a coil that's getting heat soaked and not doing it's best. Same could be true of the ignition control unit on the fender. I'd also check the resistance of the coolant temp ("NTC") sensor on the intake manifold to be sure it knows what the correct engine temp is - a hard start after shutting down is often a temp sensor that thinks the engine is cold and dumps a lot of fuel as a result, thus making the restart difficult or impossible. Had that on a couple c900s.
