ver One: Replaced heater control valve with a scantech valve.
Two: Scantech valve leaks at will after three years.
Three: Bypass HCV with 3/4" copper pipe.
Four: Buy a rebuild kit from Chicago guy. Have not used it yet.
Five: Pick up a used original SAAB plastic valve from pick n pull $5.75
Six: Pick up a used 1983 metal valve from pick n pull $5.75
Has anyone gone back to a metal valve with success? Previous posts indicate the metal valves don't leak, but get stuck in position causing the rod to break. After a lot of WD-40 the valve moves, but not nearly as free as the plastic ones.
