easier if you used something like white lithium grease or graphite spray or powder?
Maybe boiling water (if it's old gunk, then WD-40 to get rid of the water, then lube the movement.
I don't know if it's an external or internal part you're trying to get moving, but you may want to try something that will actually lube the bits!
