So, purchased a 93 900S Convertible last summer with 50k miles. Nice car, but had been stored for a few years before my purchase, so I had my local Saab specialist go thru the car and replaced all fluid, did a tuneup, etc. Aside from some really annoying dash squeaks, the only real issue that MAY be an issue is the coolant temp.
The temp gauge, when driving on the highway, points to the 3 o'clock position. But if I stop at a light, the gauge quickly rises to about a 1/4 inch from the top (red mark.) The fan does come on, but the temp only seems to drop once the car is moving at 30 mph+. So, is this normal? My new mechanic says yes, but it defies anything logical to me. Anyone have an opinion?
