The inner aluminum tube of the slave has to be inserted into center hole of the pressure plate as the assembly is slid into place. The disc is just rattling around between the flywheel and PP. Keeping the slave compressed is the main trick. There is a Saab tool designed to keep the slave compressed during this process so the dealer mechanic can do it in a flash. If you put the disc and PP in first the the 'height' of the slave can't fit between the transmission and the pressure plate. All three have to go in together. As stated above the three centering pins on the flywheel should be at about one o'clock and five o'clock as you look at it from the front. I've had the whole mess slide in in a flash and other times I've had to fiddle a bunch. In those later situations I've been tempted to remove the starter for a little more clearance but eventually it all goes in.
