OK, so brake lights/turn signals seem to be funky. What's really funky is that I saw what looked like cigarette burns in the spare tire cover, and that was an area that the connector lead for the trailer was stowed.
Trailer light lead is tapped into the wiring in the left rear turn signal zip code.
So, tonight, the turn signals seemed to be OK, but if the parking or headlights were already turned on, the brake lights would flash slightly and then move down lower and dimmer. If the headlight/parking isn't on, then the brake lights operate as normal.
I'm trying to eliminate the obvious before I tear into this and then end up installing a new transmission, and complete driveline restoration.......it just never ends sometimes.
Any ideas on obvious ( other than possible wires crossed on the tap to for the trailer lights ) solutions. I did replace the headlight switch just to see if there was any change and no difference noted.
It got dark and I was out of steam, so I called it quits tonight. I have to take this car on a 150 mile trip on Sunday, so now it's crunch time, and at the same time, we have to work on the car that's going to a race, so not much time left, and no time to waste.......thanks for any input.
