I managed to get the sucker back in there. The special Saab spacer only seems to be good to get the parts out but doesn't provide enough room to put everything back in. I wound up using my press to push the pressure plate splines farther down than the spacer did and jammed in a thick bungy cord that I cut down to size. It was still tight, but I'm back on the road now. Thanks for for everyone's input.
