I hate to admit it, but since the wisdom here was that "it should fit though tightly", I resorted to using pieces of wood two by fours and pounding the slave in place by hammering on the 2x4. It has worked for a year now so I didn't do too much damage.
Yes, I remember the back pain AND the lines of bruises running up my arms. And the sad thing is that I don't know how I could have done it differently other than using a wider diameter (than the eEuro) spacer.
