I am in the process of replacing the O2 sensor on my 1988 turbo. I've always hated the position of the O2 sensor (underneath, at the bend of the downpipe.
I've got a second bung on my downpipe (3-inch performance model).
Does the position of the sensor make a big difference? Could I use the secondary position about 18 inches lower (downstream) equally well? It would make future access a whole lot easier? It seems to me that if the position is good enough for a wide band sensor, it should be good enough for the normal primary one. What say the brain trust?
PS, I couldn't see from my searches that this question had been asked before.
