So, true to the farm tractor paint scheme philosophy, John Deere tractors are green so when they break down in the field, they can't be easily seen as not operating. The International tractor is red so when it won't start by the barn, it blends in.
Allis Chalmers painted their tractors orange so they would be seen no matter where they were still working. No hiding for Allis......
My 1981 turbo block was Plymouth green. So, it must be a John Deere engine, and sounds like a tractor with the straight pipe going out the side of the fender.
Perhaps I'll paint the next engine block build orange for reliability like the Allis. Wonder what color the Exxon Valdez was, because the engine leaks like it is ventilated. I even have a crankcase vacuum pump to try to keep the oil in check, it still has massive palm oil drippings for some reason.
