I cleaned those up too. In fact, I cleaned everything up that I could possibly get too which was a lot considering I had the entire cooling system, alternator, a/c system, turbocharger, distributor, and intake manifold off. It should be easier to determine what is leaking now.
I replaced all the oil related gaskets/o-rings as I went. With any luck I may have stopped the leak(s) at the source. I almost did the oil cooler lines too but the research I did made that look more difficult than I had expected (parts-wise), so decided to pass for now. I also replaced the vacuum bushings in the intake manifold, PCV, and vacuum lines in general.
It's all back together now and running well. First time I've had a/c since I've owned it. I like the blue silicon hoses from DO88, they were a bit of an extravagance but I'm glad I got them. The turbo spools up a lot higher than before so I appear to have eliminated the leaks that were causing diminished performance. My previous base boost was only around 3 PSI. Have not re-measured it yet since I’m in the process of installing a boost gauge in the DIN slot vacated by the equalizer. Hope to get that finished up tonight.
