The AID really made a huge difference in performance for me, John. Until I had that in and got the timing figured out, I was still getting knock onset at high boost, which caused the APC to twitch the boost down -- it would only stay about 1/3 - 1/2 redzone until I got the AID. After that, whoosh... top of the red. I really think that device was worth the dough.
That's a good tip on using the bolt to keep the hood from tilting all the way! It should be listed as part of the headlight aiming procedure. Last time I did it, I ended up repeatedly opening and closing the hood as I adjusted the knob a couple of turns, closed the hood to observe the effect, opened it to adjust again, and so on. Live and learn! I'll remember that for next time.
Stand by for my missive on the wastegate actuator. I'm just finishing that job up tomorrow... still needs a couple more tuning runs. :D The wastegate actuator replacement was a real pain, literally. I'll tell all soon.
