Umm I'm alittle baffeled by your post. I have ran Hakk's for the past 15 years and also snow raced in upstate NY with them studded on an Ice Course. They performed great and I've gotten thru 2-3.5 feet of snow. From Albany NY to Plattsburgh NY. And the problem that stopped me was not the tires, it was the snow comming up over the hood of my 1986 900S so I couldn't see the road anymore. Ever measure the distance from the ground to the top of the hood? Now in Colorado I have been stuck in traffic comming back from Breckenridge up to Loveland Pass. And the tunnel at Loveland Pass is at 11'000 ft. (Was hard to leave on the power days.) I saw 4 wheel drive this and that which were all over the road, but I didn't have any problems at all with the tires. There isn't anything I'd put on my car. Matt stick with your Dunlops, and the colorful language, which isn't needed here. And my thought about the $$ on snow tires is this. A person is buying tires becuase they want the best tire they can get, just in case the weather gets as bad as it can get. If you loose it because you save a few bucks on the tires. You will pay more than a good set of tires for the tow, body work, and insurance increases....

Its snowing in Denver as we speak,
