I just did the balance shaft job on our 92 9000t. I recommend freezing the cover so it will fit with plenty of slack. I had no problems with the 518 sealing the timing cover. I don't know about 518 but most other loctite threadlockers have a shelf life in years. When it's expired it doesn't set up like RTV. It's still liquid only it won't set up in a sealing surface..it will stay fluid.
