I've heard about the Malibu HB too--it is to be called the Malibu Maxx
(the name itself is worrisome!) and I fear it will be one of those uglymobiles like the Aztek, Matrix, etc.
My 94 9K CS is pushing 100K and my tolerance for being stranded is very low, so I am also surveying the bleak landscape for a HB replacement that
will accommodate a fully-assembled bicycle as my 9000 does.
The non-wagon 4-doors that fit this criterion appear to be
Hyundai Elantra GT
Upcoming Mazda6 HB
And then there's the V40, Passat, Jetta, et al.
The new Prius is also supposed to be a 5-door.
None of these would seem to offer the same "feel" of a Saab, but I have yet to test any of them and see how I like them.
Alternative for me is a 2002 9-3. Does anyone know if unsold 2002 9-3s still exist?
